Colorado Columbine is a bushy, clump-forming perennial, 1-2 feet tall and wide. Leafy bushes produce tall stems that bloom April-July. This Columbine variety is the classic with white petals and blue sepals behind. A fantastic opportunity to incorporate showy blue flowers into your landscape. Columbine is pollinated by bees.

Colorado Columbine occurs throughout the Rocky Mountain states at elevations from 6,000' to 10,000'. It is found in a huge variety of ecosystems within that elevation range: sagebrush, pinyon-juniper, mountain-brush, aspen, Douglas fir, Aspen-tall forb, spruce-fir, and alpine tundra communities. It is especially common in Aspen stands. In your own landscape, Colorado Columbine will do best under a tree or in other filtered sunlight. It is drought tolerant, as are most Utah native plants, and will need no supplemental water once planted in its appropriate setting. Colorado Columbine tolerates a wide range of soils except heavy, poorly drained ones.

These are second year plants that will flower this year!
