Munro Globemallow, Sphaeralcea munroana 50+ Seeds
Sphaeralcea munroana, Munro Globemallow a lovely addition to the garden. A very versatile and hardy plant, it's great for a burst of color late in the Summer when the heat is still oppressive. Drought tolerant, thrives in full sun to part shade and is hardy USDA zones 4-9. Grows about 3 ft tall and 2 ft wide. Native from central Utah and Nevada to Northern Washington.
No real preference on soil type. Dry, sandy, rocky soil is no problem, and it even likes clay. Considered xeric but may appreciate some evening water in the hottest locales.
Tall and rigid 'wands' are covered in flowers that are a gentle, lighter colored orange than other globemallows and can be cut into a bouquet to keep the plant from seeding.
An excellent native wildflower choice for pollinator gardens, crevice gardens and xeric landscapes.
