Broom snakeweed is a small mounding shrub with excellent drought and heat tolerance. Often found in scrub oak grasslands where they receive part shade in excellent draining soil. Try playing with rabbitbrush, sagebrush, western wheatgrass, and your choice of wildflowers.
It is both extremely drought and cold tolerant. It enjoys full sun but is most found in dappled oak forest. Beautiful plants that bloom late Summer into Fall. Perfect for gravel areas, roadsides, or borders along walkways. This seed is from Western Summit County. Appears to have salt tolerance.
Start in Spring with 30 or less days of cold moist stratification then sow on the surface. Do not overwater. Seedlings are easy to establish. This batch has been tested at the nursery with ~95% germination.
