Festuca idahoensis (Idaho Fescue)

Idaho Fescue is a good choice for a drought tolerant, ornamental grass. Less drought tolerant than Sheep Fescue. It has moderate shade tolerance and excellent cold tolerance.

Found in an extremely wide variety of habitats throughout the Intermountain West. Idaho Fescue is recommended for higher elevation, cooler areas, especially north to east facing hillsides where it can control erosion without supplemental water.

This medium height bunchgrass grows 12-36 inches tall and is beautiful as an ornamental or in small stands throughout the yard.
